An epic novel that sweeps through the American 20th century. The deeply set hurt of a young girl affects the lives of those who should be closest to her.  Decades pass while the damage simmers below the surface; and in that time, some of those affected come to grips with their emotions.

Karl Rullen is a man on a collision course with himself and sees nowhere to swerve.

Wall of Shadows takes Karl through the beauty and ugliness of Nicaragua to face a past he's tried to forget, a present that leaves him empty and a future that scares the hell out of him.

A reluctant but successful Southern California cosmetic surgeon, he started with noble intentions but an unexpected event pulled him into a career and life he never wanted.  Now thirty six, using his skills to make the wealthy look younger and more beautiful than nature intended has left him empty. An over-riding sense of responsibility keeps him helpless to make the changes necessary to escape a growing discontent.  That is not the only dilemma he faces.

During his vacation with a stunning girlfriend and her gal-pal, new relationships are forged, existing ones are strengthened or abandoned, and long-protected walls are broken down as a lost man finds his way.
